Tiktok or someone, could retained placenta be the route of my over supply?

Tiktok I just read what you said in another post about ratained placenta affecting supply. This may be a really silly idea, but I am still bleeding after 8 weeks and I had retained products after DD too (but it eventually corrected itself without a D aand C)...is there any chance that this could the the route of my massive over supply/gushing let down? Blush in case I am being very foolish...

Retained placenta reduces supply, Astrophe, because it suppresses the hormone prolactin (you'll remember that breastmilk production is triggered by the expulsion of the placenta, whose hormones have been 'locking out' prolactin throughout pregnancy). I have not heard of it having an effect the other way and I can't see how it could.....

Bleeding after 8 weeks is still on the normal spectrum, but it would normally be quite faint by now.
Have you checked any of this out with your medical carers?

Hope things get better soon.
