Hi all,

Im going out for a girls night tonight...my first for nearly a year! But im a bit confused/worried about bubs.

I have plenty of milk in the freezer for DH to feed him and he used to take a bottle fine but lately has been fussy accepting it so we havent bothered.

What can DH do if DS rejects the bottle? I am going to be out from about 6.30pm-1am (hen do away from home) this will be over 3 of DS feeds.

Also do i need to pump when out? Im a bit worried obv as its a hen party. Or will i be ok if i feed/pump just before going out and straight away when i get home?

Help please!! X

How old is your DS? I know when my DD was less than 6mo I would've been quite uncomfortable if I didn't get to express for 6 hours! (Did hand express in a bathroom on a couple of occasions due to discomfort when I was away from her - think that was after 3-4 hours)

Have you tried using a cup? Maybe if you try today you'll know what your options are. If he won't take anything at all I'd be worried to leave for that amount of time tbh, it'd depend on DS's age and whose hen do it was as to whether I'd go.

If you're missing 3 feeds I'd expect you'll need to express when you're out

Thank you. He's 3 and a half months. He will take a bottle just quite reluctantly although DH said its better when im not there.

Ill try him with a cup today and see how we go. Think im worrying because he's just started to suck for comfort although i have been trying to limit this.

Sounds like i will be in the loo hand expressing a couple of times.
Its my aunties hen do and been booked for ages but may drive...just in case he doesnt settle. First time of DH putting to bed too!

Oh why did i agree to go??

I think driving's a great idea, that way you can play it by ear...after all trying to predict the behaviour of a 3mo is probably a big ask! Plus everyone will understand if you need to go earlier than planned Smile

Hope you have a good time!

Thank you...will probably be worrying too much to really enjoy but am looking forward to being me for the night...not DS's source of food! ;-)
