Nipples suddenly soar again after 14 months of breastfeeding!

why is this happening? I found breastfeeding agony for the first 7 weeks but ever since then, everything has been fine and now this. My nipples feel so sensitive and a little raw. Could it be that dds teeth are rubbing against them?

Pregnant?

IHeartIona · 13/03/2013 20:42

Has Ds got new teeth? Dd2 is getting the middle top two and has made me sore as well, I remember dd1 doing the same when she got new teeth.

I would love soaring nipples.

I'd say pregnant too! I was bf-ing DS who was 23 months when it started to hurt real bad. I found out I was pregnant before I tested! Grin

Second pregnancy.

Or latch has got lazy as she is older.

But being pregnant while still feeding a toddler was the only time I ever had sore nipples.

Could it be thrush? Sounds like a similar pain. Have you or your dc been on antibiotics recently? Other things can cause thrush too, can you see any white spots in dc's mouth?

My 14mo is the same (and I'm definitely not pregnant!) His latch gets very shallow when he is teething (usually only affects one side, but have to brace myself for latching on!) and I feel very 'grazed' -sound familiar?
