... is what it said in a letter in the Daily Mail (I know, I know) today.

Anyone care to comment on that?

I don't think choice is the right way of putting it - some babies just for whatever reason can't get the hang of latching on. I see that as a physical cause, not a choice on the part of the baby.

Nah IJ, mine don't like naked boobies, boobies are offensive you see..

but as i said earlier... a baby who has been mixed fed and then refuses the breast is effectively choosing the bottle

fa mine didn't either...screamed when put anywhere near it, even when i wasn't trying to get him to latch on!

and then some narrowminded person comes along and says 'everyone who doesn't have tubular breasts blah blah can breastfeed'

I actually have no response to that comment because to me it's uninteresting how a baby is fed--breast or bottle. But I do think it's awfully clever from an editorial standpoint to publish a letter that says "it was my baby's choice to bottlefeed" because statements like that sell papers.

Perhaps "it was my babys choice to bottlefeed" is just a way of dealing with it.
