No let down in right boob - always have to start on left

Ds is 9 weeks old and is feeding like a champ so very happy. Only problem is my right breast has no let down reflex, so I have to start him on the left which brings milk in both, the switch over.

I'm worried my right will dry up as he feeds a lot from the left, if I put him on the right to start to up supply he gets very upset as nothing comes out!

Really dont worry about it. I spent ages thinking my boobs would dry up and now you are 9 weeks in they just wont. If thats the easiest way to get going then that's fine, well done for the breast feed and just keep going!

Do what you have to not what you think is the right way if you are switching over then its fine.

I know its really easy when your baby is tiny to get caught up in the minuite of it all and you can be on your own all day and worry about doing it all right. Next time he needs a feed get a drink, phone, remote and enjoy the sit down and stop worrying you are doing really well

I've spent 16 weeks worrying my supply will dry up for various reasons, such as having to miss 2 feeds on one day due to having to go for a work lunch, then suddenly her sleeping through a night then not again, then me introducing bottles at 10am and 10pm.
All I can say is it hasn't dried up! And it even seems to be there at the time I now give a bottle. I have no idea but think its takes longer to dry up than we all thing.
My little girl also prefers the right side and for about 6 weeks the left side had a milk blister on the nippel which was a nightmare and meant she got that side far less. the milk blister has gone now and there's still milk there. So all i'm saying is I think it will be fine!!

I rarely feel a let down on either side when feeding but, since DS is a thumping 9 month old baby now, I clearly have milk there! I think it surprises him a bit when I do get a palpable let down because I can hear him start gulping audibly to keep up with the output rather than his usual quiet sucking.

I would suggest you don't even 'need' to start on the left. Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean it's not there. Just keep feeding equally from both sides and you'll be fine.
