7 month old losing interest in milk

Just a bit confused and wondered if any clever person could explain this to me:-)
I have a seven month old who eats solids pretty well (I think - nothing to compare it too) About 2 weeks ago he started refusing his afternoon feed. Now he seems uninterested in feeding off me at all - This morning he barely took anything at the first feed and bit me twice. He has two bottle feeds a day but these have also reduced.
Does he just need less? A lot less!
I have been pretty ill this week so wondered if this has affected my milk supply - I dont get the same feeling of let down as I used to and he doesnt seem to do many big swallows. Could it be that he is drinking less because there is less there or is there less there because he is drinking less - does that make sense?
I am an the verge of stopping breastfeeding and just going to formula but I dont want to regret it. Is there anything else I can try?

When you say you are on the verge of swapping to formula, is this something you were contemplating before you were ill? Have you spoken to a BFC on one of the bfing helplines? It might help Smile

How are you getting on now? Did you manage to give one of the helplines a call?
