Do different brands of formula taste / smell different

My 9 month DD is refusing formula milk, she will take expressed milk in a bottle but if offered formula just point blank refuses it. Should I try a different brand or are they all more or less the same ? I've been offering her HIP organic powdered formula. Thanks

I've experienced two different brands of formula in powdered form and from what I remember they both smell the same (I did not taste them). I found that my daughter (when she was being particularly fussy) prefered the premade formula over the powdered formula. Hope this helps.

I can drink the premade hipp organic myself (not that I do...) but find the powder really horrid! Kind of fishy. Might be wort buying one of the 70p premade cartons out.

Thank you, will try the Pre made cartons and fingers crossed she'll drink that x

I tried the HIPP organic one on my dd and she wouldn't touch it, so I tasted it and it is disgusting!

Switched to Aptamil and no problem. It is really nice and sweet and I thought it tasted quite like breast milk.

Now feeding my ds and had to switch from aptamil normal milk to the comfort one. I expected them to taste the same as they are the same brand but the comfort milk is horrid. I'm really surprised he will drink it.

So no, they don't all taste the same. So I would definitely try a different one and see how you get on.

Well my husband tried her with Aptamil ready made formula tonight and she drank it no problem at all Smile I'll see how she gets on this week with the ready made formula and may get a box of powder next week and see how she gets on with that.

Thanks again x

Aptimil and cow and gate are the same blend. Its worth remembering that as powder is vvv expensive and in our supermarket tge difference is £2 per box.

Well we're almost back to square one, she refused the premade formula when I tried to give it to her tonight, in the end I swapped with my husband and she reluctantly took it. Wondering whether the problem is more that she can smell my milk and is holding out for that when I feed her, rather than it being a problem with the taste /smell of formula ?????

I would agree. If you can go away for a couple of nights it will work.
