Vitamin C and Arnica?

sebsmama · 23/02/2013 14:20

Quick question: my c section scar has become infected. I am on anti-bs which are apparently safe for my ebf 3 week old.
I want to take vitamin c and arnica tabs to promote healing and hopefully avoid further courses of anti biotics. Are these safe when breast feeding?
Thanks

Arnica tablets are homeopathic and don't contain any active ingredients, so totally safe (as are all homeopathy products). There's some information about various vitamins here.

As EauRouge said homeopathic remedies will be fine. Arnica, however, is predominantly for bruising. For infection of wounds Calendula is excellent (it is the homeopathic 'antiseptic') - both tablets and tincture are helpful. If your wounds are slow healing then other remedies to supplement calendula could also be indicated.

Thank you Icompletely i knew arnica was for bruising but had thought it was for general healing also. I have picked up some tea tree for the bath, and couldnt find arnica tablets anyway. Calendula sounds better, I will look into it, thank you.
