Erythromycin, prednisolone and breastfeeding?

Been prescribed a course of erythromycin and prednisolone today, had a bad chest and felt off it/knackered for about six weeks. GP says I'm wheezy and sent me for an x ray, results will be back later in the week.

I'm still bfing my 8.5 month old quite a bit. Doc says its fine and I've looked online and it should be but I feel a bit worried. Baby is a big chunky fella and no health problems thank god but still a bit Hmm about it.

I would probably not bother with the steroids but I do feel quite pants and am a bit concerned about what's up with me, doctor was very insistent that I must have the X-ray...any thoughts?

I'm on 40mg prednisolone and taking it a good 8 hours before I feed.

It's totally fine. I have just finished a course of the same combo (well, clarythromycin & prednisolone) with a younger baby and it sorted my chest right out with no ill effects for DS2 - I get asthma when pregnant (ah the joys of biology) and have ended up with manky persistent chest infections during pg and when baby was small both times round. Do take the steroid - it will take down any inflammation and help you clear any gunk from your lungs that could get reinfected. X ray is presumably to make sure you don't have pneumonia or other more serious lung lurgy as you've been unwell for so long, but hopefully that'll be clear.

Don't worry about the meds and get well soon!
