Getting nutramigen smell out of bottles

Passmethecrisps · 22/01/2013 09:50

Hi,

My 10 week old LO is on nutramigen formula. It is a fine apart from the fact that it smells horrid. It doesn't seem to matter how much I scrub the things, there is still a rank smell when I go to refill them.

Does anyone have a tip for getting rid of the smell? I tried bicarbonate but wasn't sure how much to use and am not convinced it made a massive difference.

Not a life altering issue but any top tips would be gratefully receieved.

milton? Might make them smell worse though

Thanks ilove. I had been using Milton as I was advised cold water sterilising killed thrush spores unlike steam. Anyway, you are right in that the smell is pretty strong. Maybe I could do them once a week or something. The smell doesn't bother LO - just me!

Do you have a dishwasher? Maybe try running them through that too

Yup. I think that might be a plan at least every so often. They smell rancid. Yuck
