I've had an unstable pelvis/SIJ since my son was born in October. 6 weeks ago I started with back pain, which in combination with my pelvic issues has resulted in collapses/falls and lots of pain Sad I've had 6 weeks of Chiro and a hospital admission for MRI after getting stuck on my bedroom floor after a collapse (lost all strength in my legs)

After another hospital trip for my unstable pelvis and back today (fell again, lots of pain), I've decided to stop breastfeeding. It's been discussed as a likely (but not certain) reason that I've not responded to over 6 weeks of treatment, things are getting worse if anything Sad

Feeling v sad about it, but trying to balance everyone's needs, I have a 3 yr old DD and DH who needs to work.

So, a long way of saying what's the best way of stopping? DS took bottles of formula and expressed milk while i was in hospital, so I could just pump or gradually decrease BFeeds. Any ideas would be fantastic

So sorry about your health problems. You have done great and given a wonderful start to DS but are doing the right thing to be healthy for your family. I think you should find it fairly easy at this younger age, so long as you look after your body and take it steady. You dont want to end up with mastitis. Take it a feed at a time. Can you also get help from someone who can offer a feed in a bottle/cup whatever so you find it easier emotionally, and also baby isn't smelling/seeing you at that time? When my DS is with grandparents, he forgets about me completely for hours, it's amazing! Good luck x
