BF, pregnancy and my endlessly very sore nipples!

^ that basically! I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my second baby and still breastfeeding 17 month old DD.

In the last three-four weeks, my nipples have become very sensitive, presumably due to pregnancy hormones and all that, to the point that water from the shower falling on them can be quite painful.

DD is a greedy little thing, still wants milk about 3-4 times a day, not for very long but I'm finding the initial latch painful and am not quite sure what to do about it. I don't want to stop breastfeeding, but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make it less stinging?

Oh i had this. Afraid i didnt find anything to stop it so.i tried to mentally distract myself as like you it was just the initial latch that hurt.

Breathing slowly like when in labour helped and it did go away at some point in pregnancy, certainly didnt have it for the whole nine months.

Thanks, I really hope it goes away soon!

I remember mine went away and then came back right at the end if oreg and lasted for a few days after baby was birn. Its that toe curling pain when they latch on. It do settle down tho and is quite common, kellymom might have some tips?
