8 months old - too much weight gain on solids, should I increase BF?

Hi,
DS is gaining weight very quickly, he went up from the 25th to the 75th percentile. I am not sure if he knows when to stop with the solids as he's always crying for more and I don't know either.

I limit him to 200gr food for lunch (average mix of 120gr veggis, 50gr potatoes, 30 gr meat) + 2 plums or half a pear and 180ml porridge + 2 plums or half a pear. Otherwise he's on 4 BF per day. What he could eat is almost double the lunch and 250ml for porridge plus double the fruit.

I am concerend to replace more feeds with solids because of the rapid weight gain as I found out that it is possible to overfeed babies.

Sleeping wise he's fine with the food, I don't have additional night feeds but the crying for food, the always searching and us hiding our food or eating out of his sight is really frustrating for all of us.

Thanks, Thali

Hi, am watching with interest as DD2 (8.5mo) is going through precisely the same thing. She is FF; will have about 18oz of milk daily, as well as 3 small meals - I honestly think she'd eat all day!! Definitely got heavier over the last 2 weeks (was 19lbs on 75th centile at last weigh-in before Xmas).
