I'm a single mum with 3 DC. DS2 is 10 months old. I am co sleeping & breastfeeding. He has always fed a lot during the night but recently I've felt really tired & last night I paid more attention to his wakings & he seems to be stirring & latching on, sometimes for a couple of mins & sometimes for a proper feed, every 30-45 mins. I don't always wake up completely but a couple of times I can't get back to sleep for an hour so I'm not getting much sleep at all. I don't want to let him cry & I know it won't last for ever but just wanted somewhere I could say I'm knackered x

Don't have any answers but that sounds like a really tough situation, sympathies. I only have one DS but the exhaustion is enough so with 3 DC you are up against it and it sounds like you've been doing a great job. All the best, hope you have a better night tonight.

Poor you :( It's awful getting up in the morning feeling like you've already done a full day's work. Is he teething? Hang in there :)

Thank you all. I know it will pass & we had a really hard time establishing bf so it's nice he wants it so much now & I hope to go on for a good while yet. Think I just needed a place to go arghhhhhh without hearing just give him a bottle, lol

I have been down the every 20 min wake up for a feed. It was horrendous and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

Still on frequent night wakings but it does seem to get better.

Hang in there....

Thank you geekette, had such a good night tonight that I'm wide awake now even though all 3 DC are snoring. Typical!

Yep I am with you, also with 10 month old.

Night before last night I didn't get to sleep until 4am due to sick and teething baby feeding/coughing/crying and sick 3 year old having nightmares.

Gave her ibuprofen last night as she kept sticking her fingers in her ears and crying.

Now they are asleep and I am awake.

stuffthenonsense · 24/12/2012 05:40

Ohh I feel for you. Same situation with DC5 and the night feeds but I at least have a DH I can kick out of bed to put the kettle on a 4.45am when I've given up on sleep (partly because he snores loudly).

It will pass. And bottles? Why on earth would anyone suggest get up fetch bottle over lie in bed guide boob to mouth? Your doing fabulously!!

notnagging · 24/12/2012 05:42

Same here! Ds is asleep after feedin but I can't fall asleep. So glad they haven't got school tmw.Smile
