12 months old today, 1+formula or cows milk?

Good morning ds is 1 today Smile and I am wondering what to do about his bottle feeds

Firstly, he still has three bottles a day of formula. First one in morn, mid avo and bedtime and he is happy with this, not showing any signs of wanting to drop mid avo feed. Should I drop it or just keep the same?

Also should he now go on to cows milk or the 1+ formula? Does it make a difference? If I do start giving him cows milk how do you do it? Just stop formula and replace with cows milk?

Many thanks in advance

Xx

Hi roz,

This will be me in a months time! My HV told me once DS turns 1, he just needs full fat cows milk and to give him the milk in a beaker - no more bottles!

My DS is having 1 bottle in the morning and 1 before bed at the moment. I think after 1 year they're meant to have around 300mls of milk a day.

DS has been using a sippy cup since 6 months, but on the HV's suggestion I've been givin it to him without the lid as he wasn't drinking much from it, without the lid he's drinking much more, so I think he will be ok when I ditch the bottles!

I'm interested to see what other people say as I'm not sure how easy it will be to ditch the bottles, but at least no more sterilising!

Good morning. My info may be out of date but I never used follow on milk. Full fat cows milk here.

Ds2 is now four and has a full, tall Anywayup cup morning and night. All three of mine have been perfectly healthy so far.

I just moved straight to full fat cows milk at 12 months. I just stopped the formula cold turkey and mine all managed the change with no difficulty at all.
