Formula milk available in Portugal

Message for Angel (I think!) - sorry to start a new thread, but can't find the original one.

Looked at powdered formulas in the Algarve, in supermarket called Ecomarché they only had Nestlé "Nan" and "Aptimil" (?!) A really poor range, however only a smallish supermarket.

Our kid got out there and refused to take the pre-mixed cartons of C&G I'd taken along for his daily bottle, so it was back to 100% boobjuice for the duration. Probably your best bet if you can - think that culturally it is acceptable to get 'em out anywhere, if not, sorry if I caused any offence...

All the best.

I live near Lisbon, can't answer for the Algarve, but there are several available, if only from chemists. Haven't seen other thread, are you looking for a particular brand? Not many brands are identical to the UK available ones though, although the contents is apparently pretty standard across Europe for ingredients. Let me know if you want any more info.

I took a tin of powdered from home and made it up using bottled water...
But certainly saw SMA in the chemists...

I'll look tomorrow in the big supermarket I go to, but I can't remember seeing it here. You could try to search for an ex-pat shop near where you are staying though - the one here in lisbon has UK brands of formula milk.

Have tried googling farleys portugal, but haven't come up with anything. Is there a help line number you can ring and ask?

Will have a look around though tomorrow.

angie, I am in the algarve, if I see farley's first milk, I will let you know.

When are you travelling?

None in big Continente supermarket - only a lot of Nestle stuff - sorry.

I asked in our chemist, they don't stock it but many chemists here are privately owned and stock whatever they want. I would imagine in the Algarve there is a demand for UK brands, but I don't know how you'd check before you arrived?

If you need anything else, let me know
