dd 4 weeks, boobs still feel sore/bruised, nips fine

As above really!

DD is my 3rd but I don't remember my boobs feeling quite as bruised and tender as they do when I was feeding DS's.

Latch seems ok, and nipples aren't sore or cracked at all but unless it's during or shortly after a feed my boobs feel really bruised when touched.

Any ideas or will it pass as DD settles in a little more?

Don't know sorry, perhaps one of the bfing helplines will know?

My DD has tongue tie which wasn't picked up for 8 weeks and this is how my breasts felt.

Boobs aren't agony or anything, just bruised feeling if touched.
Expected it in the very early days, but equally expected/hoped it would be better by now!

Eventually spotted by one of the numerous breastfeeding drop ins I went to. Then referred to ENT specialist to have it confirmed and cut. But tongue looked normal on top and she could move it so missed a numbed of times. The bruising was where she was gumming not sucking properly.

Milk Matters website tongue tie page is good for all the symptoms.

I also took arnica which helped with the bruised feeling.

Have tried to look but she's not been very co-operative yet but doesn't seem look like any of Dr Google's pics!

My baby was seen by a few mw who did not spot the TT. I went to a specialist at the hospital this morning and she was diagnosed and cut. My boobs feel bruised too (baby is 10 days old) but I hope that will help as I am on the verge of giving up...

Hopefully you get to the bottom of it. At 11.5 weeks today pain has eased a lot in the 3.5 weeks since it was cut but still sore. Saw the ENT doctor earlier today and it needs to be recut. Roll on Tuesday.

So multi mam compresses really ease the pain as well.

I had this for at least 4 weeks with DS. I assumed it was just boobs getting used to milk production but could be worth checking out with a bfc

I thought (and hoped) that too Marzipan but thought I'd see here if I was missing something.

DD is 5 weeks tomorrow, perhaps I'll give it to 6-8 weeks then see a bfc if no improvement.

She doesn't have any real set pattern at the moment, sometimes going 3 or even 4 hours (rarely!) At night but then back to every 2.
Sometimes both boobs, sometimes just one.
Maybe that's the issue and it'll calm down soon.
