Baby not liking Medela bottles

Hi, I've been expressing and feeding (as well as normal breastfeeding)my 12wk old with Avent bottles with no problems, he happily switched between the two, but recently changed to a Medela electric pump. It's brilliant at expressing but my baby doesn't like the teat and gets quite stressed when we try to feed him with the Medela bottle. It seems that the teat is too big / long perhaps. Has anyone else had this problem? We've got some nights out planned for next week and I need to know that he will feed ok!! Thanks.

could you express into the medela bottle and then decant into the avent one for feeding

Do you have the tiny vent turned the correct way? Took us ages to work that one out!

Thanks Stargirl I hadn't seen that! I assume you're referring to nos 8,9,10 on folded instructions. Think I've got it but not sure what no 10 means??!
And thanks Vodka we had that as our plan B!

Out of interest is this for the calma teat? I found them to be an absolute nightmare with my baby, either flooding him to begin with or causing the opposite, no milk, with great frustration, so we switched to another bottle. If that fuss was all to do with a tiny vent being the wrong way, I now feel like I want to poke my eye out with a spoon.

If you are getting air bubbles in the milk then the air vent is the correct way. You have to have it assembled correctly though. The instructions are DREADFUL!!!
