Growth spurt question

hunkermunker · 18/03/2006 22:51

DS2 is eight weeks old now and has had several growth spurts - fussiness, wanting to feed every hour, feeding as if I'd forgotten to do so for a week or so (ha!), etc, etc.

I know why this is. It's to increase my supply. It's what I've told people in the past, it's what I know to be true.

But how come after a feed, I can express 5oz straight off? Surely there's enough there for him without having to do this fussy thing?

Ds2 is doing this exactly. Must be growth spurt - he is 6 weeks old. Fed loads in the night last night, how long does a growth spurt last?

Couple of days to a few days IME. And it DOES pass

DD3 seems to sleep constantly for 2 days after a "growth spurt", I guess shes just tired after all that feeding & lack of sleep. Meanwhile I walk around looking like Dolly Parton, getting quite uncomfortable while she sleeps. Can't work that one out either./ If she has done it to build supply why doesn't she bloody well want to drink it!!!
