Any worries about "cup confusion" or am I just being silly?

DD is 5.5 months and we're thinking about upcoming weaning. She has never had a bottle and I am hoping to go straight to cups for expressed milk; to this point I've been able to feed her myself but in the coming months I may need to be away for long enough that DH will need to feed her.

We got a Tommee Tippee free-flow cup from the HV, and tried some expressed milk in it. Only the second use she seemed to know exactly what it was, and drank eagerly, if a bit spill-y.

But now we'll also be giving her some water with weaning. I wondered if she'd be confused if the same cup sometimes produced milk and sometimes water? Should I do something like get a second cup of a different colour for the water? Or am I not giving her enough credit to figure stuff out :) ?

I always used the same cup no matter what DS was drinking. If you are concerned I would go for something entirely different rather than just a different colour (doidy cups are excellent IMO, I got a couple from amazon)

I don't think she'll mind. If she drinks well from a cup then just go with it. She'll soon work it out by looking at what it's got in it.

She'll probably just appreciate all the new flavours, textures and modes of delivery!

Thanks! I'll just go ahead and use the one cup then. :) Maybe we'll get a doidy too.
