I've just reluctantly added a fibre supplement (fybogel/psyllium husk) to my already pretty high fibre diet. It's been about a week, and for the last couple of days ebf DS (4mo) has done a million poos.
About 8-10 per day, small ones but really noisy and gassy.
He seems completely unbothered and is otherwise fine, but I'm a little concerned. Will he just adapt to the new level of fibre eventually? Will he get a sore bum from all this pooing?
I really don't think I can remove the fibre supplement from my diet for the foreseeable future. The official line seems to be 'fibre does not pass into the bloodstream and therefore does not pass into breastmilk', but I'm sure that can't be right...
Thoughts?
