Too much fibre for bf baby?

I've just reluctantly added a fibre supplement (fybogel/psyllium husk) to my already pretty high fibre diet. It's been about a week, and for the last couple of days ebf DS (4mo) has done a million poos. Sad About 8-10 per day, small ones but really noisy and gassy.
He seems completely unbothered and is otherwise fine, but I'm a little concerned. Will he just adapt to the new level of fibre eventually? Will he get a sore bum from all this pooing?

I really don't think I can remove the fibre supplement from my diet for the foreseeable future. The official line seems to be 'fibre does not pass into the bloodstream and therefore does not pass into breastmilk', but I'm sure that can't be right...

Thoughts?

I just can't imagine how it would pass into breastmilk, since the point of it is it's indigestible and passes straight through....

Did DS just have some shots? Mine got the squits after one set.. or perhaps it's because it's hot, so he's been feeding a lot, so your milk has upped to meet it so there's just more to pass through?

Grin Chunky it took me AGES to realise you meant vaccinations! I had visions of you feeding a tiny baby tequila and lemon! Grin

Hahaha @ tequila!

He hasn't just had shots - in fact he's due them tomorrow so I really hope this isn't a tummy upset. Maybe it is to do with the heat - tbh I'm not sure whether he did feed more, he's a frequent feeder anyway. I don't know whether it's even a greater quantity of daily poo either, just spread out more. I hope it's not going to make him sore. I daren't grumble about the cost of all those nappies til I know he's ok!

He's still doing it! Argh, stop pooing!
