Can't believe I've breastfed for 2 years...

Seems like DD was born yesterday. The last 2 years have gone so fast! Wasn't exactly a chore breastfeeding her as we never had any problems, although I do feel slightly amazed that my experience was so far removed from what I went through with my DS, who didnt' want to latch on, I got really crappy advice from HCPs and I ended up exclusiverly expressing for him for 10 months.

I have been glad this time that I never have had to attach myself to a machine this time around!

Well done choc, that's good going Smile is she showing any signs of weaning or in it for another year? Grin

Could i ask how your family and friends responded to feeding past 12 months?

I'm only being nosey as DD has turned 12 months now and I think I will get a few 'when are you stopping..' kind of comments coming my way soon Confused

Well done. :)

GodisaDj - She isn't showing any signs of weaning at all! She loves BF as much as ever. hoping to continue till she self weans, but will draw the line at 4yrs I think when she starts school aged 4 and 2 weeks.
My family have been fine about it. Both sides of the family are very supportive, both my mum and MIL have breastfed for a long time, my MIL in particular beyond 2yrs, so no negatives responses there. Friends have been fine too, even those that didn't BF beyond a few weeks. well nobody had said anything to my face anyway!

What a fantastic achievement, well done to you and your DD. You should reward yourself somehow, massive box of chocs maybe? Grin

Wow well done, I've breastfed DD1 for nearly 12weeks now and hope to be able to say I've done it for 2 years one day. Smile

Congratulations, what an achievement!

I fed both of mine until nearly 18 months and was secretly very proud of myself as I'd only met one other mum who'd stuck with it so long, I'd not expressed either.
How lovely to have all that family support too.
