Breastfeeding and return of periods

DD is 23 months, still breastfeeding. My periods started again when DD was about 9months old and have been regular since then. Until this month, I'm more then 2 weeks late. Highly unlikely that I'm pregnant but did a test anyway today and it was negative. I'm wondering if they are getting irregular /stopping again because of the breastfeeding. Has anyone else had a return of regular periods and then later they stopped again while breastfeeding?

Erm no. I would leave it another week and do another test. If it is still negative I'd go and see the GP.

Hm, if I am pregnant I'd have to be about 4 months(last time we did anything) pregnant though, with no symptoms at all. That would be strange. Think I'll make a GP appointment then if nothing happens this week.

I am 'hmm' at that too tbh. Haven't heard of returned, regular periods stopping again because of breastfeeding - you are saying you've been regular for a year aren't you? There are lots of non-major reasons your period might be late, but don't think breastfeeding is one of them in this case.

Well I was hoping that would be the easy, non scary explanation. I guess not then. My grandmother had her menopause when she was my age(35) I hope its not that!
