My 14 month old is a bit hit and miss when it comes to food, if I am there she is not interested, just wants to feed and gets very upset if she can't. The thing is I dont want to refuse her because I dont know if she has teeth coming through or not. Its blooming tiring though and I sort of expected at 14 months to be able to leave her for a few hours without her wanting to feed. I don't even think its a hunger thing, sometimes it is, sometimes I think she just wants to for fun! what should I do??????

I have the same thing happening with my 14 month old - and I'm currently reading the LLL book "mothering your nursing toddler" which says that the first half of the second year many babies nurse like newborns and it is to cope with increasing independence and adventuring - so it's normal apparently!

Ifancy know (from experience) that it doesn't work with all babies but have you tried "not now, we'll do that after lunch" type thing. DS would be put off if he knew he would get it after a particular activity, DD would just not.

Have you read [[http://kellymom.com/bf/normal/toddlernursing/ Bfing your toddler: What to expect[[ on kellymom?
