Has anyone successfully done this? How long did it take. I tried about 10 times last night but with no success. Baby boy is 3 months, it just seems impossible to undo 3 months of sucking to sleep!!

No but at around 14-15 weeks DS started sucking his fingers & thumbs instead of me & has self settled mostly since then Smile

No but ditto above post. I let dd suck until she's asleep but recently she's started pulling away and sucking her thumb or a muslin then shock horror falls asleep on her own. She's 19 weeks. Go with it I say!

DD was nursed to sleep until she was 1. After I finished breastfeeding I would cuddle and sing to her when she'd finished get milk and it did the trick. She didn't sleep through the night until 18 months, so although bedtime was easy, I still had problems with sleep.

yes we did it, but not until about 9 or 10 months

Worked fine, but not until a lot older than that unfortunately.

I think she suggests not even trying until 4 mths?? Before then, it's pretty much inevitable really, goes the theory.

Fwiw, dd1 pulled off of her own accord from about 4 mths, dd2 still feeding to sleep at 2yrs!! Wink
