hi, DS is 10 wo and time for him seems to be becoming shorter. He sometimes is only actively sucking for 5 mins, then slows right down. He used to stay on for much longer and just wondering if this is normal? Many thanks

Babies often get more efficient at feeding as they get older. If you are still getting plenty of wet nappies and over time heist putting on weight, don't worry!

I see your 5 minutes and raise you 4 Smile. Mine can empty one breast very fast, I do have oversupply and over active let down, he just lies there and it pours in.
Lots of wet nappies and weight gain are the best ways to let you know they're getting enough.

THANK YOU, PLENTY OF WET NAPPIES, WEIGHT GAIN NOT GOOD RECENTLY DUE TO 2 COLDS BACK TO BACK, BUT HE NORMALLY GAINS 6OZ A WEEK.

Um my dd absolutely gulps it down. In about 3 mins. Then she's done!

jealous of that feekerry ! Although I said 5 mins, that is by no means every feed, and even when he has stopped actively sucking after 5 he tends to stay on and fall asleep, then swallow every so often. Sometimes he stays on and gets frustrated too. Feekerry do I remember you from the Hyperemesis thread? I hope you are enjoying the pink castle !!
