DS is 14 weeks and is mixed fed (topped up with formula after most feeds). He takes about 450-500ml of formula per day. How much breast milk do you think he's getting?
I haven't had a period yet so does that mean he's getting lots of breast milk?

Have a look to see on the formula container how much formula he should be drinking for this age/weight, this will give you an idea. Just remember that babies who are breastfeed generally don't drink as much, so it's not accurate but gives you an idea at least. Is there a reason why you are topping up after every feed? Just that this was (in part) what stopped me breastfeeding as long as I had hoped for, your supply will not increase as is needed if you are constantly topping up.

'Tis a lot of formula for a baby of this age, Ecgwynn...depending on his weight, of course. If you want to continue giving breastmilk, you will need to work out a way of reducing it, really.

Yes I am aware of the supply issue. That isn't actually what I asked about. Don't give me a breast-is-best lecture please. BF has been a struggle for me to do, even alongside FF. Being able to fall back on formula has kept me sane so please don't make me feel guilty about it and suggest that the only good way to feed your baby is exclusively by breast.

I don't think anyone was suggesting that, or lecturing you! As I said, I had to mix feed!
