Latch is ok. She's now got 8 teeth but still drooling. Eating variety of food too.

Can't use lanolin as allergic snd camillison (sp) stings.

Amy ideas on why they be sore?

It could be thrush, it could be a reaction to something she has eaten (you say you're allergic to lanolin so may be allergic to something else - food/teething gel/teething powders), it could be a reaction to her drool, poor latch due to teething pain.....

Lots of info here - hope it helps you find out why.

In the meantime a little BM patted gently onto your nipples can help ease the soreness.

Thanks truthsweet. I don't think it's thrush but I may get it checked out

All 3 of my children have been through a phase where at about 8m breastfeeding has been agonising - far worse than any pain I've had at the start, and bad enough to make me wonder if it's the time to stop. I've just been through it with my youngest and tbh I'm not sure what it is but I suspect a lazy latch due to teething problems. Anyway with each of them it has stopped as suddenly as it started and I've kept going - completely agree that breastmilk seems to sort out any sore bits better than anything else.

Good luck.
