Nettle sting sensation in nipple

Am bf 7.5 month old and in the last few days have a nettle sting feeling in my right nipple. It can get quite sharp and uncomfortable.

Any ideas? What is it? Can I do anything?

Sounds like thrush to me. You can fix it with a cream for your nipple and something for the baby to stop it spreading back again.

If it is thrush, your baby may or may not have signs in his/her mouth like little white splotches that won't wipe away.

When does the pain occur? If it's continues after a feed, is excrutiating and is in both breasts, then it could be thrush.

Anything else going on? Might some new teeth be causing the latch to change and give you some pain?

No signs in DD's mouth. Pain not excruciating and it's only on the right side. Happens when she is feeding mostly thought have had a few stinging feelings when she is not feeding too.

We have just moved house so things are a bt different. It sure if that could have effected her feeding.

Could be teeth I guess. No specific signss but she has had bottom two for a few months and there pretty much appeared over night.
