Breastfed baby poo. What's 'normal'?

DD will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. She's EBF.
She does a pop after every feed, usually a big explosive one that leaks out the nappy and ruins her clothes.

I always thought they were only meant to poo once every few days but then read that someone else was told it was normal for them to poo after every feed.

I'm a bit worried about how much she poo's but if it is normal for some babies that's not too bad. Is it normal?

She does a poo not a pop

totally normal. mine went through periods of pooing multiple times a day. it does go everywhere and iirc, dyes white babygrows yellow. enjoy!

ps, I was liking the idea of the massive pop.

Yes totally normal and great at this age. often older breastfed babies will go several days between poo. But in the first month they should be going at least several times a day.

DD and DS both went multiple times a day in the first few months. DD eventually slowed down to once or twice a day. DS went through a phase of not going for a few days but he was about 4 months old and efficient.

At the age you're at we had multiple poo explosions each day, usually leaking and going up their backs and down their legs. It's utterly normal.

That's exactly what DD was like at that age. I was worried and asked my HV but she reassured me.

Mine changed from several times a day to a few times a week during the second month.

Mine went 5-6 times a day until he was a few months old then he only went every 9-14 days. Freaked my MIL out but he really was fine, there just wasn't much waste. I thought it was great.

DS is 5 months and still poops at every day feed (thankfully he holds it in during the night. Not that he sleeps.....)

All babies are different. I was lucky and had an occasional pooper. You've drawn the short straw poop-wise.
