If you express at a certain time of day...

...does it encourage better supply at that particular time? My supply seems low in the evening (I know this is normal) and I wondered if I started pumping a bit, gradually building up, that this would help?

Thanks!

I was told by my NCT teacher that expressing first thing in the morning is when you'll get the most as hopefully you have had a little sleep (!). I did find I got more out in the morning.

I would have thought that any gain would be short term, initially you'd boost your supply, but as you switch to him feeding instead of the express he will regulate your supply down again. Plus are you still struggling with oversupply?

I used to express in the evenings, after a few days would be getting a good amount out but if I took a couple of nights off I would be back to where I started.

I always got more in the mornings - almost double the evening volume (8oz vs 4oz!)

Thanks all, esp Penguin (is that you, Penguin?). Oversupply in the am, under in the pm (but prob fine, actually, they just feel empty)

Will just continue to pump whenever is convenient

Cheers
