Really confused now I've switched to FF

I EBF'ed DD to around 7mo and then started switching her BFs to FF in readiness for my return to work. I'm obviously completely inept at FFing as I have just discovered I've been doing it wrong. She is now 9mo and on formula for every feed.

I've been giving her formula in a bottle (tommee tippee with teat 1) and now I find out (from reading side of tin) that all this time she should've been drinking from a cup... But I've been giving her water with meals in a doidy cup and quite frankly she's not too good with it and just chucks it over herself so if I gave her milk in this then none would go in!!

So I'm now confused about what to do. Today I bought a beaker with a spout as a sort of halfway house and she refused and kept pushing it away and crying so I got the bottles back out again. I feel totally unprepared for everything and don't know who I'm supposed to ask as I don't really have anyone. Can anyone help please?

Another thing is that she starts with CM this week and I have to send all food and bottles but apparently formula should be used within 2 hours of being made so I have no idea how I sort out her afternoon bottle based on this rule.

I wish I'd just stuck with BFing that was much simpler and there wasn't this 2 hour rule which tbh is a bit impractical surely. Or have I for it all wrong?

So grateful for any responses.

Ah bless you, give her back the bottles. IME it takes babies a long long time to get used to drinking rather than sucking. I think I used bottles long past their 1st birthday actually. Just give your CM a tin of formula and however many bottles she needs for a day - the CM has a kettle and a tap, yes? She will know what to do xx

Expecting a 9 mth old to have all her milk in a cup is a lot to ask.....not sure what the pack says but babies of this age getting all formula for their milk normally have bottles, honestly :)

If the CM does not want to make up bottles from powder, then use cartons. But the CM should be fine.
