DS seems to be becoming increasingly windy. It wakes him a lot from his sleep (farts and burps and tummy gurglings). Do wind him but don't make a big deal of it, esp if he is peacefully sleeping at the end of a feed. I tend to let him bring up his own wind when he is wakeful, and if he cries and draws his kness up we try to burp but it doesn't always come. Want to try to avoid putting anything but breast milk in him. Have him sleeping at a slight angle. Taking him to see osteopath today. Do you thiink my diet might have an effect? Is there anything else I can do? Many thanks.

In my experience diet had a huge effect. I eventually found some of the foods involved, bananas and stoned fruit (peaches, nectarines etc). It can take a while to work out exactly which foods it is. Have you changed your diet recently?

Thank you - no I have not changed. ANy idea how I could start to work out if diet is the culprit?

You could try an exclusion diet, eating fairly bland food for 48 hours, then add foods back in. It can be a long process, if you can't think of anything it may be. Try keeping a food diary and see if there is any link. What are you drinking? Is there any changes there? Fizzy drinks or ones with artificial sweeteners in may be a trigger. Too much tea/caffeine maybe?

EBF three-month old here. She is troubled by wind and sometimes finds it very uncomfortable before she gets a burp out. Winding after feeding generally sorts it out though. I do let her sleep if she's dropped off but otherwise walk around jogging her up and down to get it out. Have you tried different teats?

I'm muddling acronyms aren't I. Mine is fed EBM - expressed breast milk. Was vaguely adding 'fed' to that. You're talking about exclusively breast fed aren't you. Teats may not help!

How did you get on at the Osteopath? Another thought, could it be teeth? Always made my children windy.
