had a section a week ago and am on difene and paracetemol. i do notice when it's coming up tp time for difene that the scar is quite sore if i move but only have difene til friday.

is there anything stronger than paracetemol i can take after that? am also on iron so avoiding constipation is a consideration too.

thanks!

Baby - This tells you all about which pain killing drugs are compatible with bfing. (Difene is a brand name for Diclofenac in case you wonder why you can't find it on the info sheet). Hope the pain goes soon.

I was advised to take ibuprofen after having stitches. You can combine paracetamol and ibuprofen happily and rotate them so one kicks in before the other wears off. Codeine is also okay if you really need it, but try to avoid if possible and stick to a lower dose.

Also it might help to take Arnica, this promotes healing, it's herbal so won't interfere with the others and is safe in breastfeeding.

You could try swapping the diclofenac for ibuprofen as they're similar drugs. If you find that you're still feeling very sore then see your GP for another prescription of diclofenac.

Oral arnica is homeopathic (as it's poisonous!), so only creams/lotions actually have any active ingredient in. Don't know if you're allowed to put that on the area, but arnica tablets won't do anything (unless you are enough of a believer for the placebo effect to work).
