Hiya, no practical advice to offer I'm afraid as my DC both took naturally to BFing (otherwise I'm sure I would've given up!) but how about contacting your local La Leche League as they will be able to put you in contact with a peer counsellor who can offer advice and support.

In the meantime, Lansinoh cream? Good luck. :)

Sounds as if you aren't getting enough of your nipple in her mouth. The baby shouldn't be able to gum/bite your nipple, it should be fastened on round your aureole with your nipple well into its mouth. I would definitely see a bf councillor in your area as you don't want to get damage ( which can happen quite easily).

How old is your DD? When mine was about 5mo she started pulling and biting. I used to take her off (by sliding my finger into the corner of her mouth to break the seal) and say 'no biting!' in a short, serious voice. Her bottom lip would quiver at being told off and once or twice we had some crying but she got the message pretty quick and it's not a problem at all. Her first telling off at 5mo...what a mean mummy?!!

She is currently 5months as well but i'm only 20, she starts sucking normally for 5min before she starts pulling or biting them and it hurts alot, I have told her not to do it but she keeps doing it i not sure what to do?

Sounds like the start of teething, getting used to the feeling of the teeth under the gums. DS does it for a few feeds every time he gets some new teeth, and he started it around 5mo.

I thought the same poppywearer (ref my PP) but DD is now 8mo and no signs of teeth!! She did stop for a few months but has just started up again. Maybe sone teeth this time

OP, I had to take her of at say 'NO biting' in a cross voice. Then stop her feeding for a little bit (a minute would be ok). You'll feel awful doing it but it should only take a few times for her to stop.
