SMA Gold 1 litre Ready formula...new packaging, new HIGH price.

I have noticed much to my dismay that in my local Sainsburys the 1 litre packages of formula have just been replaced by plastic bottles from the old Tetrapak cartons. The sneaky buggers have only gone and hiked the price from £2.19 a litre to £2.89!!

As if SMA think that we wouldn't notice such a price hike. I wish they'd spend less on poxy roadshows and keep the price as is.

Hi Sailor, that really sucks :( There is a petition about this from Baby Milk Action, have a look at this thread. Hopefully we can stop this kind of thing from happening!

Is that ready made stuff? :(

SailorVie · 15/06/2012 23:18

Yes, it's the ready made formula. Since finding out about the new SMA packaging being introduced, I've been doing the rounds of the local supermarkets, hoovering up any remaining stock of the old stuff :)

wow, that makes petrol seem cheap...

its more than double the price i pay for a litre of petrol actually

--though i cant say it surprises me.... 10 years ago (when I was nannying) a tin of formula was about a fiver.... it is now pretty much double that..... (one of the reasons why i am still BFing 9m DD as formula is SOOOOOOO expensive)
