DD2 is currently on C&G comfort milk has been since I had to switch from BF to FF as never had enough milk, no matter what I tried.

Anyway, what follow on milk would be the best for her.

TIA

You don't need to change to a follow on milk, any first stage milk is fine to use until 12m then you can give full fat cows milk. If you are happy with the current milk you can stick with it.

you don't need to use follow on at all, she can carry on with her current milk until 12 months then go straight onto cows milk

its just a marketing ploy really, as they can advertise it thus promoting the brand generally, and the extra iron isn't very well absorbed - far better to give an iron rich diet (green veg, wholegrains, eggs, dried fruit, red meat if you eat meat etc) and to give vitamin c rich foods with iron rich foods to aid absorption

if you really want to use it (i know it is cheaper) then just use whatever one you like - one from the same company/range, one you can get in the nearest shop, whatever is most convenient Smile

Ok brilliant. I didn't realise it was cheaper either. Thank you.

You also get Boots advantage points on follow on milk Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 10/06/2012 17:27

Really? I didn't think you could get points on formula?

You don't get points on the 0-6m ones as they are not allowed to promote formula instead of breast milk in any way but follow on milk you do and also included in 3 for 2s etc, though whenever they're on the shelves are normally cleared and can't get any!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 10/06/2012 18:05

Oh right never knew that thanks Smile will have a research and decide what to do.

just to add. the nhs doesn't recommend you use another milk. Only stage one formula which is suitable upto 12 months. The extra iron in follow on milk can acutely cause problems like consolation in some babies, plus to much iron has been linked to poor brain development. If you Google it you should find the studies.
