Sad

Stooped during tge day the week before and a couple of days pain and it was over but now I've stopped night feeds (of which there were many) and I've just started leaking. It's so sore and lumpy Sad

My boobs took about 2 weeks to get back to normal after dropping the last night feeds. Warm flannels and rubbing oil gently on the hard bits may relieve some discomfort but it will pass soon enough. I think there might be some herbal teas that help breast milk dry up too.

I stopped about 5 or 6 months ago but they're still sore. I'm still producing milk as well. Gah.

Honestly- cabbage leaves. Preferably savoy, preferable from the fridge, line your bra with them. They totally worked for me each time, and literally come out of your bra limp and wilted as they draw the heat out somehow. Totally marvellous.

I found a Warm bath tummy side down soothed lumpy boobs.
Gentle massage/ hand express to help clear lumpy bits

I stopped a couple of weeks ago - breasts were desperately painful hard and lumpy so after 8 days I fed DD again and that was it, breasts emptied and didn't "refill".

Apart from the fact they are three sizes smaller than before I started all is back to normal

You can phone a NCT breastfeeding counsellor. They can help with all sorts of problems, including how to stop breastfeeding.

SaraBellumHertz have been so tempted to do this just didn't want to create more demand Confused

BloooCowWonders really? Thought they wouldnt be very keen on that.

I was really worried about creating more demand but to be honest I was desperate it was so uncomfortable and although there was a slight improvement it wasn't nearly sufficient for me to feel that progress had been made IYKWIM?

I gave DD one full feed, completely emptied breasts, all the lumps and hardness disappeared although there was probably another 24hours of generally achiness which I put down to their being over full to begin with and then they were fine.

DD was 15mths so I had a well established supply.
