i have a little problem with my 13 month old, he has nearly completely come off of bottles and when he does have it wont have anything but SMA gold milk for babies. i am not only worried about him stopping his bottles completely but worried that he shudnt be on baby milk but on something better for him! any advice? i have tried every milk out there! x

When I started DD on cow's milk I started off by mixing 75% formula and 25% cow's milk, then I moved to 50/50 then 25/75. I did this over a few days and DD never noticed the difference.

really! can you do that? i dont mean to sound stupid... if i had a 8 ounce bottle then i would start with 6 ounces formula made the normal way and just top up with 2 ounces of cows milk? xx

There's nothing wrong with keeping him on baby milk if you want to but they can just have cow's milk now - about 12oz a day.

Yes, you can. My sister gave me that advice and it worked a treat. Why not give it a try and see how you go on.

i would either continue with formula for a while, or do as bunbaker suggests and gradually dilute the formula with cow's milk.
don't replace water with milk though. if you had an 8 ounce bottle you would make up 6 ounces of formula and then just top it up with cow's milk

unless he will drink cow's milk, in which case i'd just switch to that

i have tried just cows milk semi skimmed and full fat and toddler milk all different brands, the face i get from him is like he has sucked on a sour sweet! lol! i will try that mixing idea though and see how he goes xx

It needs to be full fat cow's milk til he's at least 2.

I've been buying the formula for 1yr+ for extra vitamins etc when he's being a fussy eater. I also mix it with a bit of cows milk.
