5/6 months old baby...how often do yours breastfeed?

baby is 25 weeks. have not started weaning yet, I do not think she is ready...
but she seems to want to feed constantly!

fast feeds. but often. what is going on? every 2 hours like a newborn. is she not taking enough? is it for comfort?

I saw on a bottle of aptamil that baby should have 5x of 7 oz at this age.
my baby is feeding 5x just during the night!

is this normal. what is going on? this has been going on for 2 weeks

Forget what formula packets say bf is different.
My dd is 8 months old now and has only recently started going 4 hours between feeds now she's eating more.

She was on 2 hourly til well past 6 months don't worry. She's little and often too!
Similar now she's on solids she will quite happily graze for ages but will never ever eat a huge bowl of food in one go. I don't prepare much anymore as was fed up of wastage. She has about 6 small snack meals a day as opposed to 3 main meals.

Oh but also if the constant feeding is only a new thing and she didn't always do it then my money is on growth spurt. It will pass

Absolutely normal behaviour for a BF baby of that age. It's taken 2 months of solids for DS to space his milk feeds out to every 3 hours (he's done that himself, I can't be faffed with pacifying a hungry baby - just feed him!) so don't think that solids will make an immediate difference.

You're so very close to an incredibly messy fun part of your baby's life. The constant feeding may be about to hit a crazy peak but it WILL get better. Stick with it!

at 5m old my baby was feeding 11+ times in 24 hours

by 6m she was having 4 feeds during the day and sleeping 12 hours at night

DS is 6m this week, last night he slept 9 hours solid!! [very excited mummy emoticon]

Today he's fed at least every 2 hours (big feeds) plus his 3 solid meals. Over the last couple of weeks we've had periods when he's been having 3/4 hours between feeds.

He's growing and I'm fairly sure another couple of teeth are coming through. I'm with Mumbo, just feed him!

oh nanny don't tease me... how did you get that to happen at 6 months??

what do you all think about feeding back to sleep? it seems this is the only thing that will settle her in the night. how long does that go on for?

growth spurt for two weeks+? i thought they lasted days at most.

anyway she seems to go an occasional 4 hours between feeding but only during the day. how do I switch that to nighttime?
