Return of periods after ending breast feeding - PCOS

Hi all - wondered if anyone had any experience.

DS is now (nearly) 8 months. EBF to 5 months. Combined fed to 6.5 months at which point he was weaned fully on to follow on milk. Would have BF forever but DS has the attention span of a gnat and I can follow his head round a room with a bottle but not a boob Wink

DS was a IVF baby as I have PCOS and my period never returned when I came off the pill to try for him. I have heard wonderful rumours that pregnancy can help 'reset' you hormonally and perhaps mean my periods do return and we can have #2 naturally. My point being is I am now a month and a half down the line and no periods. I realise everyone is different but any experience of when I should expect them back?

Thanks!

One for your doctor perhaps?

i have pcos and my periods came back at 6 week pp and were regular as clockwork until the month we decided to try for our second and got pregnant straight away

I had (have?) PCOS and conceived twins through ICSI. I only managed to express for about six weeks and my periods returned about three months after I finished expressing. I got pregnant naturally when my twins were about eight months old after stupidly being careless once with contraception.

I've since heard that its best to try within the first year after giving birth but not sure if this is true or just a rumour...

Thanks ladies! Off to the docs tomorrow anyway, but assume all they can say is everyone is different and I guess it is a bit early.

Congrats to both Dappply and ThisIsYourSong. We are not bothering with contraception but have only had sex once Blush. Whilst I would like a bigger gap between siblings we would take a free one if we were lucky enough Wink
