EBF baby diagnosed with reflux 2 weeks into weaning - coincidence?

My EBF baby had been thriving with no feeding issues. Started weaning at 6 months and within 2 weeks in the screaming and arching started, and he also had some sort of fit. Doctor diagnosed silent reflux and prescribed renetadine. Limited improvement now after 4 days. Could this be related to weaning? Should I stop giving him dairy? Could the fit (convulsion, no temp, floppy, unresponsive) be linked too? This is all new to me so any advice appreciated.

Um - I would be very surprised if the reflux WASN'T connected to weaning. Too much of a coincidence otherwise...

On the otherhand it would also surprise me if the fit WAS connected... Will go and google for you :)

This might be of interest...

But yes, it does appear that dairy can be a major culprit, so assuming baby is having lots of breast milk still then cutting out dairy might be the first thing to try.

Thank you for the link, some really good info there. I think to start with I will cut out acidic foods and dairy from his diet (he has been having yoghurt for breakfast, and fruit with lunch) and see if that helps. He was fine on breast milk with me eating dairy etc.
