Anyone with experience of tongue tie?

my DS had his tongue tie snipped yesterday -it was moderate rather than the mild we were previously told.

He is ebf and has done since leaving hospital.he is 7wks old and feeds every 2-3 hours through the night and day for 5-10mins at a time,so very shortfeeds. It's is a killer at night!
I believed he was working his Tongue so hard before that he was tiring himself out hence the short feeds.

Immediate changes so far -his latch is much better!especially on the right nipple which used to be agony! More saliva being spat up and earlier today he threw up a load of milk(guessing he's taking more at each feed!?)

I'm hoping since the tongue snip he will take more per feed and perhaps go longer through the night. It is too soon to say at the moment if this is the case.

I was wondering if anyone else has any similar/experience of the effect of the 'snip'??

My DS had his tongue tie snipped at 5 weeks. I found he was able to feed at a much stronger rate almost immediately. Before he would always fall asleep (i think cos he got so tired trying to get milk) but he gradually got really efficient at feeding and now he can be totally done in 10 mins, he's 17 weeks now.
It took a while for feeding to become totally pain free though, i think cos of 5 weeks of damage!

i think that the feeding every 2-3hours is just a 7 week old thing! it's totally normal for him to want to feed that often, he's only tiny still

my son had his tongue tie snipped at 3 weeks, and it made no differene to his feeding pattern at all. in fact he was still feeding every 45-90 minutes day and night at the grand old age of 9 months Hmm

I'm with yesterday above. DS had tie snipped at 5 weeks and the only real immediate effect was he was much happier during/after feeds and it gradually got less painful for me. Feeding every 2-3 hours is totally normal. Relish the 3-hour breaks when you get them. DS feeds every 2 hours day & night and is 7mo and that's without illness/teething etc. all normal.
