dd has always bf a lot and until recently was feeding 6 or 7 times a day but i realised i was offering a lot of these before we went out/before fetching dd1 from school.
so the last 2 weeks i only feed when she asks for it and after trying to distract with food/cup of milk/play. this is because she swings her head round and kicks me in the head and nearly rips my nipple off being bloody nosy while feeding Grin and i spent a holiday feeding her constantly so want it to cut down.
so now she has breakfast and cup of milk at 7,
bf at 10.30 ish
lunch at 12,
dinner at 5,
bf at 7.30 for bedtime.
bf at 4.30am.

i dont want to nightfeed but she wakes every night with a bulging nappy, ive moved up to a size 4+ but it hasnt helped, she wont go back to sleep and cries for a feed then is wide awake playing and singing and waking her sister.

how do i stop this, water/cup of milk is pushed away.

help please Smile

Have you heard of Dr Jay Gordon's night weaning technique? drjaygordon.com/attachment/sleeppattern.html

My ds was doing this at almost 12 m iirc and I was tearing my hair out. In the end I let him cry. He didn't wake his sister and tbh I was so exhausted I didn't feel that bad for leaving him. He didn't cry for long, I did pat pat for a couple of days but within the week he was sleeping through and napping properly in the day. I think when you bf it is so easy to get the boob out that you rely on it and it becomes the method you use to get them off to sleep.

I co-slept with DD and she started this at around 14 months so we moved her to her own room. I still had to get up to feed her but she went back to sleep straight away once she was in her own room.

last 2 nights i have fed her and put herstraight back in her cot despite her being wide awake, she sang a bit and went back to sleep. i think i was too worried about ehr waking her ill sister so was keeping her in bed too long and making her more playful.
also managed to push bf back to 1pm, 8pm tonight so hoping she might sleep through, fingers crossed Smile
