Well, today DS is 17 weeks old and we've made it this far on boob milk alone! Now we've reached the minimum age for weaning, I'll feel a bit better if we have to end up giving him a bottle of formula every other day. (A bit arbitrary with the 17 weeks, I know, but it makes me feel better. Not GOING to wean but I'll feel ok knowing it's considered ok for foodstuffs other than bm to be given).
This is such a major achievement for me as I've been exclusively expressing after a long losing battle with tongue tie and boob refusal. I thought it was all over a month ago when expressing every 3 hours was all too much but having dropped to 4 pumping sessions a day, I'm still producing 800 ml a day. DS eats more than this so we've been using the freezer stash to make up the difference.
Freezer stash is down to 4 bags now so we will need to call on the formula in one or two weeks but I'm just so pleased to have got this far.
So thank you everyone who has offered help and support and major congratulations to my (deceptively small) super boobs! Special thanks to TruthSweet who was there at the time of crisis of always willing to offer a friendly PM.
