Quantity and frequency of feeds - 6 week old

Hi, I know on formula box it says quantities are a guide only but my baby seems to be feeding quite a bit.

She has 6 feeds a day - every 4 hours (I feed her at these intervals even if she is asleep - is it right to do this?) of 4oz - the box says she should only be having 5 feeds at these quantities?

Do you think I should just feed on demand or maybe try 5oz but feed further apart?

Just wondered what other people have done?

I can't claim to know much about ff but a lot of babies seem to have a big growth spurt at 6 weeks and just feed and feed and feed.

Feeding on demand is the current recommendation rather than clock feeding.

Have you thought about feeding smaller quantities more frequently when she cues for a feed so she gets used to feeling hunger/satiety?

At that age mine fed 3 hourly so had about 7 or 8 feeds per 24 hours. Go with what your Lo wants rather than what the box says.

My DS was on 6oz every three hours. But he was sleeping through the night 8.30 - 8.30. I wouldn't wake him for a feed.
