Anyone have experience of expressing for a toddler at work?

Just interested in hearing others' experiences really. I am expressing once a day while at work for my 14mo ds. He's still such a boob monster that I have to express otherwise I would leak everywhere and probably get mastitis as well.

I am very open about still feeding him as I think I have a part to play in normalising it, and I sometimes mentioning popping downstairs to express (to immediate colleagues) because otherwise people might wonder why I take so long at lunch/why I'm going where I am/why I can't start a meeting at a particular time. Is this odd? Should I say nothing about it at all?

Sounds like you are doing a great job fighting the corner andpaving the way for others. Well done and keep it up.

Well done! I never managed to express at work for longer than a month. FYI my dd2 is a complete milk monster but I no longer express at work, she has cow's milk when I'm at work & I feed as and when at home with no ill effects at all (she is 16mo).

As for what to say, up to you. When I returned after dd1 my team were really funny about it & some of them really immature. Not an issue in my current team. Occasionally mention bfing (usually as an excuse to be at the cake table...). It's completely natural & normal so I would just do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Well done you! I am Bf-ing 18 months DD and wouldn't have guts to express at work..although luckily my supply seems to be super adaptable now - she feed loads on the days we are together and just twice n days I work.
