1st period in 13 months ~ what to expect?

My DS is 14mo and still bfs 2-3 times a day.
I had my 1st period last month (Dec 16th), it was a full on if anything,slightly exaggerated, period with all the usual symptoms I'm amazed my DH is still alive
We're not necessarily ttc,just been careful whenever we have had sex which hasn't been too regularly due to sleep deprivation but we did have a mishap a couple of weeks ago :S
When should i expect my next period? Do you slip back into your old cycle?
If we've conceived,when should i do a test?

I found that my PP periods since DD3 have been very erratic (came back at 11m pp). My periods after DD1 were pretty regular (came back at 9w pp). DD2's don't count as I got pg before my 3rd period!

I think you could possibly test any time now given that it's over 4 weeks since last period. I got a stash of the cheapy 'pee in a cup' type tests from the poundshop (2 for a £1) as they seemed reliable (I tested on about day 26 and got a bfp).

I actually got a wave of excitement then :o
Although would prefer some time non bfing before number 2 but hey ho,it'll serve me right for being 'careless' or was it 'carefree' ;)

I got pg twice without any periods in between so might be worth testing. when they came back after DD (5.6 year gap ) they were back to my old pattern but I've known other mothers who have found they come back a little irregularly to begin with.

I should say by very erratic I mean I have had 5 periods between Sept and Dec (had Gynae procedure in Oct) but prior to that was going anywhere from 26 day cycles to 35 day cycles. Normally I am 28 days on the noise with a 7 day period (lucky me!).

Mine are 20m & 21m apart (DD1 was 43m/3y 7m when DD3 appeared!) so close together is good if a little tiring!

I'm sorry to hear that BenRoo but it does give you the bigger gap you wanted - still like you say .
