Visiting my husbands 90 year old grandma today. Was having trouble bottle feeding ds2, various threads on here when i was breast feeding, when he wasn't gaining weight, when he wouldn't bottle feed much etc etc. She took over and got the little monkey to feed so well, he won't feed well for me or at all for DH. She then recounted her time breast feeding her daughter till she was a year old, and how she avoided the nurse's who didn't know much but we're obsessed by her child's low weight gain, 3 ounce's a week she tells me. I guess my point is that it would have never occurred to me to ask for her help and advice when desperately trying to breast then bottle feed ds2, it's so easy to forget that she has not always been an old lady. Made me miss my Nan though.

That's a nice story and it's cheered me up. Thank you for sharing. Hope you're well too, Dribbleface- I know you've had a tough time. You so definitely are not alone with feeding issues.
I miss my Nan too. I always wish she'd have been around long enough to see my firstborn. We do second best and visit the crematorium from time to time. :)

My Nan died when i was 34 weeks with ds2. She was a legend and would loved to have met him. Things are settling with feeding thanks mixedberries (despite the low milk intake his weigh gain has been better), how about for you?

I was chatting to my gran who is 87 and she said that for each of her 3 children she stayed in a nursing home for 2 weeks so she could be looked after while feeding her new baby, and they each slept in a crib alongside her bed for the first 6 months... Funny how things come round in circles!
