Sorry if I've missed this thread, if I have then someone just point me at it please?
How amazed I was... a C4 documentary, they interviewed a woman who has had six home births, home schools them all, etc etc etc, all very impressive. They give the ages of her children, the youngest is two. The voiceover says "she has been pregnant and breastfeeding since the millenium..." with no further comment and then later on while she is being interviewed, she is casually breastfeeding a 2 year old.... and nobody makes a big fuss! Sharon doesn't make "ick" faces at the camera (like Cherry would have done), in fact it isn't even commented on. Just treated like an absolutely fine thing to do. Which of course it is.
Anyway, seems like in real life I am always spouting off about bfing (esp extended bfing) being misrepresented or treated as abnormal and I'm so glad to be able to post the opposite! Well done C4.
And the best bit - she looked "normal" - I have nothing against those who chose to grow their hair down to their knees, wear tie die and live in forests at one with nature but it's so lovely to see that you can also bf if you wear make up, get your nails done and shave your legs. Yay!
